D.Pharmacy (Diploma in Pharmacy) is a two-year diploma course that focuses on providing students with knowledge and skills related to pharmaceutical science and pharmacy practices. The course curriculum covers various aspects of pharmacy, including pharmaceutics, pharmacology, pharmaceutical chemistry, clinical pharmacy, and hospital pharmacy.

The D.Pharmacy course is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the formulation and development of drugs, the various aspects of drug dispensing, and the management of pharmacy practices. Students are also trained in the use of pharmaceutical equipment and the handling of pharmaceuticals.

The course is divided into four semesters, and students are required to complete a total of 500 hours of practical training in addition to the theoretical coursework. During the practical training, students are exposed to different aspects of pharmacy practices such as drug formulation, quality control, and patient counseling.

D.Pharmacy Course Eligibility

Students who have successfully completed 12th With PCM/PCB are eligible. To pursue pharmacy course, students should satisfy the following eligibility criteria :-

Following eligibility should be fulfilled before taking admission in pharmacy course :-

  • Students must have qualified 12th board examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and, Mathematics (PCB/PCM).
  • Students must have qualified their 10+2 PCM/PCB from a recognized board.
  • Students must have secured a minimum of 50% in their 12th board examination.
  • Candidates should not have any physical disability.Candidates should not have any physical disability.
  • Students must not have any color disability.

D.Pharmacy Course Laboratories

Pharmacy departments have well equipped laboratories furnished with latest and modern equipment along with updated software. Each laboratory is developed as per the guideline and norms of AICTE and PCI, New Delhi. Experiments are designed so that the basic concepts are well understood by the students. The various laboratories are :

Following laboratories should be fulfilled before taking admission in pharmacy course :-

  • Pharmaceutics Laboratory:- This laboratory is equipped with various instruments and machines such as tablet compression machines, ointment mixers, and dissolution testers. Students learn the formulation and development of various dosage forms such as tablets, capsules, and ointments.
  • Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory:- In this laboratory, students learn about the synthesis and analysis of various organic and inorganic compounds used in the production of drugs. It is equipped with various instruments such as spectrophotometers, refractometers, and polarimeters.
  • Pharmacology Laboratory:- This laboratory is equipped with various instruments and machines such as organ baths, kymographs, and plethysmographs. Students learn about the mode of action of drugs on the human body and their therapeutic uses.
  • Pharmacognosy Laboratory:- In this laboratory, students learn about the sources of drugs and their identification, purification, and extraction. The laboratory is equipped with various instruments such as microscopes and HPLC machines.
  • Pharmaceutical Analysis Laboratory:- This laboratory is equipped with various instruments and machines such as chromatography systems, titration equipment, and UV spectrophotometers. Students learn about the analysis and quality control of drugs and medicines.
  • Machine Room:- Machine Room has all mechanical equipments used in Pharmaceutical operations like size reduction, mixing ,tablet making , coating ,capsule filling and devices used for evaluation of dosage formulations. Some of the importent machine are Tablet Punching Machine,coating pan .capsule filling machine,Ampuole filling machine ,Ampule washing machine.
  • Central Instrumentation Room:- The facilities of central instrument room aid in getting immediate employment in analytical R & D and quality assurance/quality control departments. Central instrument room is equipped with ultramodern sophisticated instruments like double beam UV spectrophotometer, flame photometer, pH meter, colorimeter, conductometer, potentiometer, karl-fischer , titrimeter, turbidimeter- nephelometer.

D.Pharmacy Course Syllabus
